Made entirely of new-old-stock vintage fabric and haberdashery, all a minimum of 45 years old, this dress is also based on a vintage 60s pattern, which I've modified. It's one of a kind.

The striped pale peach and vanilla moire fabric is a silk blend - I believe the silk to be blended with either linen or cotton (according to my burn test). It has the classic, lustrous water-mark design (which also makes it hard to photograph). It's hand-washable (and has been pre-washed).

I've taken the traditional pintucked smock-style dress and turned it inside out, and made the tucks chunkier. It's darted in back and cut narrow at the shoulders, to emphasis the girlishness of the design. The dress may be worn with or without the collar.

The pleated collar is made of lustrous Dupioni silk and sports a row of very old, unused, satin-covered buttons, which came from an old corset factory that closed down. They match the peachy-melon colour in the stripe perfectly. The collar detaches via buttons for ease of laundering. While the edges are raw, they are finished with a decorative stitch a few millimetres in from the edge to prevent excess fraying.

This dress has a traditional faced, hand-finished hem (also vintage silk) in a matching deep melon colour. The zipper seam is faced with vintage peach lace. A MaisyBrown pewter fox charm acts as a zipper pull.

It's a size SMALL, perhaps extra small by some charts. Recommended for a smaller frame (while not a fleshy person, I have a size 8 frame and this is somewhat tight for me), either a size US 2 or 4
It measures:
* 36" max around, at armpit level
* 34" around, taken 5" down from the armpit
* 39" around hips
* 31 1/2" in length from shoulder to hem
* shoulder-shoulder 14 1/4"

Note: no allowance for hem let-down as hem has been faced.
