Let me introduce you to Otto. Don't judge him by the silly grin. He may be slow, but he's pretty clever. ;)

Otto is entirely needle felted from wool roving in shades of pale pink, yellow, cream and blue, and measures approx. 2 inches tall and 4 inches long.

What is felting? There are two types of felting: wet and dry. Both methods can produce sheets or three-dimensional shapes.

Dry or needle felting involves "tangling" the fibers together using special barbed needles. It is a very time-consuming and often painful process. (I poke myself a lot!)

Wet felting is the process of fusing wool fibers using soap, water and agitation. It takes a bit of finesse and skill to get the results you want.
