The earwires are coated to minimize irritation for metal sensitive ears.I got a little carried away making these earwires, which give an overall length of about 2 inches to these earrings. If that is to long for your preferences I will gladly make shorter wires to your specified length—just make that notation at time of purchase. (Specify either overall length or earwire length)
