Description

Presenting a decorated tumbler that I believe was produced by Federal Glass in the mid-1950s. The decal features a Blue Jay on a branch among what looks like white dogwood blossoms. The design goes all around the circumference of the glass. An exceptionally nice specimen.

This desirable little tumbler is in excellent condition. It has a definite taper from the narrow heavy bottom to the wider rim. Holds 10 ounces. The decal is crisp and clean-edged and the glass is bright and clear. It measures 5 3/4" high x 3 3/8" in diameter at the widest part of the rim.

Shipping via Priority Mail will be a flat rate of $5.75 with free Delivery Confirmation if paid for with PayPal. Insurance is recommended but optional.

To preserve the beauty of this tumbler and your other vintage glassware, be sure to always hand-wash rather than putting them into the dishwasher. Over time, automatic dishwashing detergent coupled with extremely hot water and chemicals in the detergent and minerals in the water will eventually "etch" the glass surface making it permanently cloudy and/or discolored.

A WORD ABOUT VINTAGE & ANTIQUE GLASS: Most of the glass I sell is vintage or antique, with features indicative of age. These may include visible base wear, bubbles, pattern irregularities, "straw marks" (i.e., cooling striations) or obvious mold lines. Old glass can have small inclusions of ash, sand, or dirt specks that became embedded in the glass during manufacture. All of these are expected characteristics of vintage glass and are generally accepted among collectors. I will point out anything that might be seen as a negative and I will do my best to describe any chips, cracks or other damage that would impact the value of the item. It’s always possible that I might miss something, but I try very hard not to.

You can always Convo me if you have questions. And, out of all the gazillions of wonderful items on Etsy, I want to thank you so much for stopping by to see mine!
