There are bookmarks and then there are bookGoddesses - Ngbo Komi is a bookGoddess! She will keep your place in whatever you are reading (like a bookmark) but she will do it much more style and calm, benevolent grace.

I molded her face from playdoh (Model Magic) and then painted it to look like an ancient bronze - befitting a timeless being like Ngbo Komi. Her hat is part paper and part fabric, from which emerges gold earrings (paint). Her dress is from a magazine cover (recycling!!) and her skirt is a lovely piece of purchased paper - yes, even I succomb to all the lovely papers that are out there for sale. Instead of feet, shoes & socks - this charmer has wheels instead and who ever said they had to match each other OR her outfit? Altogether, she is wonderful, lovely, stylish and never to be made again. If you love Ngbo Komi - or know someone who would, I urge you to buy her and put her to work in a good book - or a bad book. But a BOOK! Remember - those who DON'T read have no advantage over those who CAN'T.

What's the perfect size for a bookmark? Well, I'll tell you: it's 9.25" tall by 2.5" wide (240mm X 65mm). Every thing is put together with acid-free gel medium onto 100# cardstock which is just a tad thicker than the 80# cardstock I used to use. Someone asked me to make them thicker so I'm making them thicker!
