A Very Vintage Cherry Blossom Tablecloth from Marlene Linens

At one time ten or twenty dollars could buy a 1940’s, 1950’s or even 60’s tablecloth covered sometimes with hand painted roses or dripping with strawberry or cherries, and because these cloths were mostly manufactured of pure cotton or cotton linen, the heavyweight fabrics have helped these tablecloths survive in very useable condition.

To find any of these in perfect or pristine condition is one rare find. Careful laundering can sometimes remove even a fifty-year old vintage gravy stain; however some of us consider these imperfections make them more desirable, since the presence of existing stains frees us from worrying about spots created around the more recent dinner table, perhaps adding even more current vintage charm.

A vintage cherry blossom themed tablecloth in wonderful condition and measures 41 1/2" X 52". The colors are so interesting in this linen piece. Gray toned blossoms and stems and lime green leaves make this a wonderful find.

This vintage cherry blossom tablecloth from Marlene Linens can be seen in the "Barineau & Henderson" book, "Colorful Tablecoths from 1930 to 1960" pg. 91. Some slight vintage flaws do not take away from this very vintage tablecloth. It is so soft to the feel.
