Tibetan Double Dorje Flags /String of 5

Description

DORJE (VAJRA in Sanskrit) is the Tibetan word for diamond-like. It's a symbol of indestructibility, having all the power of a thunderbolt. These colorful flags represent my personal adaption of the traditional Tibetan prayer flag concept. I have silkscreened the image of a double dorje onto 5 different colored fabrics, each piece individally stitched to a cotton cord. I use fabric inks, which are heat-set, so they are totally colorfast.

The 10.5" square fabric pieces are torn, thus having 3 frayed sides; however the side attached to the cord is double stitched for indestructibility! The cord is approximately 10 feet in length.

Hang these inside or out, as a reminder of the adamantine strength and potential of all sentient beings. Blue, white, red, green, and yellow are the colors of the 5 Buddha families. I will include a short written piece describing some of the Buddhist symbolism.
