Sapphire Dream-Fabric Covered Journal/Diary/Notebook-OOAK

This is the first piece in my new Sapphire Dream Series. I’ve had so much fun with my Amethyst Dream Collection that I’ve decided to skip along the color wheel. So here’s my jump into the blue section with Sapphire Dream.

The cover of this journal is a machine stitched fabric/textile art piece. Closed it measures 4 ½” across by 7 ¼”high. I wove and stitched a dozen different blue fabrics together using a straight stitch and beautiful blue variegated thread. The fabrics are of such a great variety … cottons, satins, velvets, sheers, shimmers. They give this cover wonderful texture. I also wove in different fibers and yarns in shades of blue for even more depth.

The cover is removable so if you wanted to cover another journal when you have filled up this one, you would be able to do so. Also if you wanted to flip it around and have the back as the front, you could do that too. It would work either way.

I bound the raw edges with a zigzag stitch and I have attached my label inside the cover. I put tape over my info. for the public picture. You will not have tape on your label. {If you really want little strips of drafting tape on your label, convo me and I'd be happy to put the tape back. :)}

Included is the journal that it currently covers. It is a blue store purchased journal that measures 4 ½ “x 6 ¾” X 5/8”. The journal has a satin grey ribbon bookmark attached and has 120 lined pages with a place for you to write the date at the top of each page.

This would make a wonderful gift for a friend or a super sweet treat for yourself! Enjoy!
