Like a bookmark but much more fabulous, colorful and benevolent, RuBee Raye is a bookGoddess. She'll keep your place in whatever book you're currently reading but will also bestow her calm radiant charm upon you as you read.

She is just one of FIVE RuBees currently listed so you could buy the whole collection of RuBees -- all of them colorful and wonderful - all cut from the same piece of paper which I painted to make even more fabulous.

This RuBee's hat is made from various bits of fabric and her hair is yarn. I molded her face from playdoh and then, when dry, I painted it to resemble a bit of lovely old bronze with a blue-green patina. Her tunic is a bit of paper which I painted to make very colorful. Her underskirt is black and white striped paper. Her very comfortable cowboy boots are part paint and part print. She is glued onto 100# cardstock and altogether is ready to be YOUR favorite bookmark ever! As one customer exclaimed, "It's artwork for your book!" Each one is highly unique and will never (can never) be made again so if you adore her and want her - click quick before this RuBee is gone.

9.75" tall X 2.5" wide (248mm X 65mm)- colorful, wonderful and ready to go. Once sold, she'll be carefully wrapped and placed in a (recycled) box and shipped off to you. Every care is taken so that she'll arrive in perfect condition, ready to go to work as your reading companion. Or you can frame her - lots of people do, but I make them as bookmarks, use my own as bookmarks and suggest you do the same - they really do make reading better.

Sadly, reading is on the decrease in this country. Use this bookmark to encourage yourself to read more OR, if you're already a bookworm, use this bookmark to encourage someone you love to read more. I so admire First Lady Laura Bush for all her work to promote reading in this country so I sent her a bookGoddess AND am also keeping the prices of the bookGoddesses low so that people will actually use these original works of art AS bookmarks.
