handbuilt stoneware bowl with handcarved stamped texture

Description

This eye-catching bowl was handbuilt in my happy atlanta studio with white stoneware clay and a stamp that i carved. The repetative pattern of this piece is sort of mesmerizing and has been emphasized by the use of black stains which were rubbed into all of the grooves. The remaining stain was wiped away to create a great contrast of black and white and then the whole interior was glazed with a clear gloss glaze. The bottom has been glazed in a mottled, rusty paprika color.

This bowl measures 5" in diameter and is 1.25" high. It would make a fun bowl to use for a personal serving of salsa or hummos to go with your chips on game day? It would be a great soap dish or a fun bowl for a single scoop of ice cream... with enough room left for a cookie or two... or some chocolate sauce and whipped cream... or maybe just filled with candy.... mmmmmmmmmmm
