Serenity earrings

Description

These colours used in these large hoop earrings are mellow browns and pale blues to create a tranquil and relaxing mood. I imagine a pool of clear blue water and rich, damp brown earth, and perfect stillness – serenity.

Earring detail:

Each hoop is approximately 44 mm in diameter and the total drop length is about 52mm including the fittings.

The hoops were handmade by me from 0.8 mm sterling silver wire. They have been soldered, filed and polished, so the beads are going nowhere. Threaded onto each hoop are eight 4 mm semiprecious aquamarine beads alternating with wirewrapped 10 mm brown freshwater potato pearls and 6 mm faceted smoky quartz spheres. I made the fine silver headpins myself. An 8mm aqua Swarovski crystal doughnut hangs from the middle of the arrangement and at either side are threaded pure silver wrapped Karen Hill tribe beads (fair trade).

The entire central piece is anchored onto sterling silver beading chain strung at intervals with faceted rhodonite ovals, heliotrope and smooth chalcedony ovals.

The fittings are sterling silver ball studs.
