Many generations ago A white man who traded goods with the Native American tribes was perplexed by th sudden increase in demand for his bone stemmed tobbacco pipes , they didn't just want A few pipes , they wanted hundreds ! He soon dicovered that the pipes were being dismantled and the stems were being used to make jewelry and adornments of all types. So it was , the hairpipe "bead" was born. The generations that followed embraced the style ,as we know today, to become A traditional element of design across many Native American tribes.
