Reginald, Bunny Boy--Storkop Series, No. 5
Description
Reginald is NOT amused. First his teacher required him to participate in the school play. Then she had the nerve to cast him as a bunny rabbit! His mom was more than happy to make him a costume, although her sewing skills are decidedly lacking (Reginald is sure she used duct tape to hold parts of his costume together). She didn't even bother to sew the tail on, just pinned it (with an old, safety pin even). Worse still, the only fabric she had enough of for the costume was pink. Pink! Those neanderthals at school found enough to pick on him about already--he would NEVER live this down. He would forever be known as bunny boy.************************************************
Reginald Burbank is from Storkop. His sister, Sally Ann (affectionately known as the Bubblegum Girl), was sold last year. More details about Sally Ann can be found at my website: http://www.ladyartisan.com/Sculpts/ArtDolls/Storkop/sallyann.htm
There's a small town called Storkop in an unspecified part of the United States (although it's probably somewhere in Texas since that's what I'm most familiar with). It was settled by Northern Europeans and originally called New Europe (curiously enough). After a few decades, the population of the town began to exhibit unusual... er...physical proportions. The town was renamed Storkop--a contraction of the word "stor," meaning "large/big" in Danish and Swedish and the word "kop," meaning head in Dutch.

Details about Reginald. He is a mixed-media art doll (not suitable for children). His head, hands and feet are sculpted from Darwi air-dry clay (with Apoxie Sculpt at certain delicate spots: neck and the base of the ears). He has a wire armature for his body with batting wrapped around it to fill him out. His ears also have wire armatures and batting.
Reginald's costume is made from a repurposed dress that both my girls outgrew. It's a soft, stretchy, velvety material and is permanently attached to Reg, both sewn and glued. The white tail was attached with an old safety pin and can be removed. However, the butt flap does NOT open so please don't try (that would be really rude, anyway).
Reg stands 11 3/4" tall, with ears up. He is quite poseable--ears, shoulders, elbows, torso, legs and knees all can be bent. Please remember that his costume is permanently attached so he can only move as far as the costume will allow. Also, his neck, wrists/hands, and ankles, feet are NOT individually poseable.
I didn't actually use any duct tape in making his costume.
This item is not a toy--it's a work of art intended for the adult collector and not for children or for playing with. It can withstand light handling and posing by an adult.
