Spring Patchwork

Description

I recently came across some cool old jewelry at an estate sale. They were OK the way they were, but they were begging to be altered. I think of these like my Frankenstein creations. Because I totally love buttons, I altered this to have a super cool Czech glass button closure. Half of the necklace was as it was originally intended, great sparkly chain linked crystals - the other half I added - dancing green circles and fabulous large cotton candy pink pearls. The necklace can be fastened anywhere on your neck depending on your mood. I prefer for the button to be visible because it is so outstanding!

I prefer button closures as they are easy to fasten without assistance - and I am totally into recycling and appreciation for things that might be discarded. I love the idea that an old button can be a focal point and gain new appreciation for a newer generation!
