Skull Bracelet

Description

This bracelet is entirely handmade from polymer clay, copper wire and 7-cord waxed linen thread.

The top half of the polymer cabochon is fashioned from transluscent clay, metallic foils and an image transfer. The remainder of the cab is made of textured polymer clay with inclusions. There is no finish or sealer on the cab--it is hand sanded through many grits, buffed, sanded again and buffed again. Throughout this process, the cab is cured numerous times.

The band is made from 5 pieces of 18 gauge copper wire interwoven with linen thread in a twining technique. The wires pass through holes in the cabochon. This makes a strong, yet flexible bracelet that will fit any size wrist.

The total length of the bracelet is 7 inches, but it can be molded to a larger or smaller wrist. My wrist is 6 inches and I can mold the bracelet to look and feel ideal on me. The cab is 1.7 inches in diameter and the entire bracelet weighs 1.2 oz.

This OOAK piece is signed on the back by the artist.
