This Anatomical Life Block Print series --framed

Description

This listing is for a framed print of the "This Anatomical Life" block print series, a collection of original lino cuts by me.

The frame is 10" X 18" and the prints themselves measure between 2" and 3" square.

Printed in high-quality ink on thick parchment paper. Frame is black with silver trim.

Black ink on White paper.

The inspiration for the block print series came from a friend of mine. I was looking for a valentines card to send him and so made the anatomical heart as an alternative to a sappy or strange hallmark card. Once I had designed and carved the heart, however, I found myself in a thrift store contemplating an old cross stitch sampler that had 'Heart. Mind. Soul.' stitched onto it. I thought of my anatomical heart and wondered what an anatomical soul would look like. And so the anatomical life series was born.

This picture represents one of two identical pieces. The first was given to a retired doctor. I will never make another one.
