With this beautiful row counter I have substituted the numbers 0 and 5 with genuine turquoise beads. A matching turquoise bead can be found on the clip with a beautiful dragon fly charm. Silver plated wire was used to make the links. Perfect for summer knitting, or during the deep cold of winter to remind you of the warm of winter. For use with size 7 or smaller needles.

WHY THIS IS THE PERFECT KNITTING ROW COUNTER!

It was very difficult for me to keep track which row I was on, companion rows, and the like:

**slips of paper got lost and I could never remember if I’d made my little hash mark when I completed a row;

**the little plastic counters that slip on your needles didn’t work for knitting on circular needles, not to mention I had to stop at each row to click to the next and I could never remember if I clicked twice when knitting back and forth on straight needles;

** abacus bracelets were beautiful, but I knew I’d never know which bracelet went with which project, I’d forget to take it off and it would be in another room when I was ready to sit down to knit, or I’d play with it when not knitting while on my wrist changing the number it was on.

In frustration one day, I made chain made out of number beads and wire. It worked perfectly, and adding the clip allowed me to count up to 100 rows! When doing companion rows, I could place the clip on the last row in a companion row and knit away, or I could use the clip to keep track of the number of companion rows I completed.

Place the row counter on your needles and let the needles do the work. Every time you come to the row counter, you slip the needles into the next number. You need only stop every ten rows to move the clip to the next tens and the needle to the zero. With two clips I could keep track of over 100 rows. The possibilities were only limited to my (and you) imagination on how to use these row counters.

The clip keeps track of your 10’s, keeping the row counter shorter then ones with a strip of 10 beads hanging off the end.

The numbers allow you to easily see at a quick glance what row you are on, no need to count beads/links, the numbers do the work for you. Great for those occasional times you drop the marker off your needle -- you know what number you were moving the counter to when you drop the chain!
