Nouvo emo striped polo shirt with broken heart stencil

This unisex shirt looks great on a girl or a guy, as the pictures will attest. It features classic red and navy polo stripes, but goes off kilter with a broken gray-blue heart design over the pocket. Go ahead - wear your heart on your sleeve... or, well, on your heart.

bright. hand stenciled shirts are made with the simplest D.I.Y. methods. Stencils begin as hand drawings, and are then traced onto clear plastic that can be cut with an x-acto knife - almost always an overhead projector sheet. then i use acrylic craft paint to apply the stencil to shirts, bags and other items. finally, the design is heat sealed for permanence. feel free to wash these items along with your regular laundry - i do.

while the prints do eventually fade or crack slightly, this only adds to the unique and handmade feel, and the designs are actually surprisingly durable and clear. i like to use this method of embellishment to revive old and unloved items. ihile the same stencil is used multiple times, each item it is applied to is different, making each one one-of-a-kind. This shirt is part of a group that was rescued from a thrift store so that it could enjoy a second life.
