Vintage McCoy Cat in a Basket Cookie Jar

Ooooh, this is a wonderful vintage find from my latest estate sale adventure.....a fabulous McCoy Cat in a Basket cookie jar! It is simply adorable - great decor for a vintage kitchen. This is part of a series of cookie jars made by McCoy - there are other cookie jars including a dog, a lamb, and a duck in baskets. Some McCoy pieces are being reproduced now, but this series has not been reproduced - this is genuine vintage McCoy, not new stock. It is valued in the McCoy collector's guide at $85-$100.

This cookie jar is 10" tall and 5.5" wide. It is in very good condition except for a chip on the inside rim of the lid (not visible from the outside - see closeup pic). Also, the cold paint on the word "Cookies" on the front is mostly worn off, a common condition with these cookie jars. There is slight crazing.
