Gale Lace Shawl Pattern

Description

A fine, nearly-sheer stole in two sizes with an airy pattern reminiscent of gusting ocean breezes. Weightless enough to keep tucked away for use when an unexpected chill rises, this piece floats beautifully around the shoulders for an extra layer of warmth.

Using different weights of yarn and/or different needle sizes results in an overall change in stole size and yardage requirements.
Finished Size: 18.5(23)”W x 72(84)”L (blocked and stretched)
14(18)”W x 55(65)”L (unblocked)
Yarn requirements: 750(1000) yards of lace weight yarn such as The Painted Sheep's Jasmine
Gauge: 22 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette (unblocked; fabric will be relaxed)
Needles: size 8US (5 mm)or size to obtain correct gauge
