The Word Unbroken II

Description

This painting is created using an amalgamation of preliminary sketches taken from various sources; theatrical performers, people in cafes and workmen up the side of a building with scaffolding. Their various forms were re-imagined within this abstracted arrangement of figures around a central table. I wanted to capture the sense of a community of belief represented by the central table (as a symbol of shared ideas) and the visionary figure looking upwards. However in this second version the visionary figure has disappeared; his/her presence felt only by a grey shadow.

Medium: Mixed media (acrylic, collage, pastel on cardboard)

Size: 20.3cm x 15.2cm

Frame/mount: Painting sits in relief (by 2.5cm) against a cream mount board surround within a box style light wood frame treated with bees wax. The frame forms part of the art work.

Hanging: D-rings and wire on back ready to hang with two bumpons to protect the wall.

Dimensions of frame: 34.7cm H x 28.5cm W x 4.2cm D

Signed: Signed by the artist on the front.
