Fuscia Mist (original gelatin monotype)

This is a gelatin monotype, a one of a kind image printed using unflavored gelatin (like jello!) as a printing surface. I design and cut tree shapes to use as stencils, roll ink onto my gelatin plate, place the stencils, and print. I repeat this process, using a new color and the same shapes in a new arrangement, building up the print in layers.

Printed with Akua Kolor ink (waterbased and nontoxic) on Japanese printmaking paper (Hosho) with a delicately torn edge. On the back, it is signed and numbered one-of-a-kind.
