Denim and Grey Learn To Fly Birdie Tote

This is probably the most adorable bag I've made yet. The bottom portion of the bag is made with cotton herringbone dark denim, and the top portion is grey cotton sateen (I do enjoy the matte side of the fabric more, so this is what shows as the face). The lining is a printed cotton poplin with a super fun birdie print (courtesy of "www.sewgoodfabric.etsy.com"). The lining pockets are a sweet yellow and white tiny polka dot, along with the bow tie closure. The birdie applique is so stinkin' cute, I can't even handle it...and I hand embroidered the legs and beak of the birdie. "Learn to Fly" is printed next to the birdie applique, as this is a key life phrase we should all remember. :) This whole tote has a sunny yellow contrast stitch, and along the seam connecting the top & bottom portions is a fun zig zag stitch. The faux wooden button on the outside pocket was given to me by my Grannie Jo! This bag measures 12" tall by 12" wide, and the knot top straps measure 21 1/2" each so you can throw this over your shoulder for carrying. Thanks for taking a peek!!
