Deep reds, oranges, pinks, and purples remind me of a beautiful summer sunset. Strawberry quartz rondelles, faceted carnelian rondelles, coral rounds, and faceted amethyst rondelles are beaded onto an arc-shaped wire, and hang from 14kt gold fill chain. A stack of amethysts dangle down, while a single carnelian connects these pieces to the hand forged 14kt gold fill French ear hooks. 14kt gold fill wire, chain, and hand forged French ear hooks.

What is Gold Fill Wire? Gold fill wire is made by forming a tube of gold (10, 12, or 14kt) and filling it with a base metal (usually brass). The gold content is 5%, or 1/20th of the total metal content of the wire. This is not the same as gold plated – gold fill contains 100 times more gold than does gold plated. Gold fill wire is strong, durable, resistant to tarnish, and should last a lifetime without showing signs of wear.
