Description

I was at a gem show last weekend and fell in love with all the Kazuri beads I saw. These are made by men and women in Kenya who are given fair wages to help them out of poverty and Kazuri Beads is a member of the Fair Trade Federation. They use wonderful earthy and bright colors. I love the shape and feel of their flat beads too - cool and smooth to the touch.

This bracelet is just a little wild with some fun brown base Kazuri beads with streaks of black and darker brown. I combined them with some beautiful red picture jasper beads and used gold filled findings to add some flash. I love the combination of gold and brown together. At the clasp you see an onyx barrel and another jasper bead.

This handcrafted bracelet is strung on professional grade 49 strand wire coated with bronze nylon. It measures 6.75" (17.1 cm) on a bracelet sizer so it should fit a 6.25" (15.9 cm) wrist. If the size isn't right let me know and I'll gladly make adjustments.

Now some of the little reminders ... These are semi-precious gemstone and ceramic beads so they can break if dropped onto a hard surface. Shipping and insurance is free for purchases over $100. I accept paypal, money orders and cashiers checks. All items come gift wrapped for you to open yourself or give to someone else.

The shipping/handling price includes insurance and delivery confirmation (except for international).

More on Gold Filled versus Gold Plated:
---------------------------------------
I use gold filled beads/wires rather than gold plated because gold filled is created by a process of using heat and pressure to bond a layer of real gold over some base metal (usually copper). Gold plating is an electro-chemical process which places a thin molecule of gold (or something gold colored) over a base metal and then a second chemical is often used for finishing to add a brightness to the bead. I found early on that gold plating can wear off in weeks if it is really poorly done and heavily used. Since that initial disappointment I've used gold filled beads (when available) and have never seen a sign of wear on any of the pieces I've worn over the years.
