Ragamuffin (tm) style yarns are the result of experiments I have been doing with the new quillhead on my Lendrum spinning wheel.

I use premium quilting fabrics, tear them into strips, and then spin them into yarn on my spinning wheel. Very labor intensive, but very satisfying. I love the rag yarn result.

This particular skein started out as a premium quality small-scale floral rose print; fabrics like this "cinnamon pink" were quite popular in the United States from 1860 - 1920.

100% premium cotton quilting fabric strips

2.5 ounces/75 grams

17 yards/15.5 meters

5 w.p.i. (super bulky weight)

Rough gauge: 2 - 2.5 stitches/inch on size 11 - 13 knitting needles (US), but you may prefer larger needles for a looser look.
