Star Crossed elves fantasy watercolor painting 8x10

Description

These star crossed lovers are just happy to have a couple of stolen moments together. His family is from the high mountain elven clans and she is from the ancient tree dwelling clan. Historically their lands have been at war, and it was by chance that they met. But once they did it was as if destiny itself had paired them. For the good of both nations and a peace between them all, these young people are attempting to persuade their parents to give their consent to a marriage.

This painting is created with pen and ink, watercolor, a bit of acrylic, and some micro-glitter inks on 140lb cold pressed watercolor paper. In person it is more vibrant and intricate than can be shown in this low resolution scan.

All my artwork starts with a rough pencil sketch, which I then pen and ink adding details. After the pen and ink stage I start to add color, and more details as I go. Finally I add the shading and glittery bits that make it gorgeous in real life. Anyone who has one of my originals knows how much more dramatic they look in real life.

I included a scan of the in progress black and white pen work so you can see it before it was painted.

This is an 8x10 inch sized artwork and is painted to the edge.
