I was recently inspired by a book titled, "Fairy Art", to make some of my new jewelry pieces. I was so impressed by the beautiful artwork in the book, I wanted to make some pieces that look like they could have come right out of the pages of the book. I call this one Fairy Dance. I've used several colors of mostly pinks and lavenders, and several different textures of soft fibers, that I have hand sewn and twisted together.
This necklace is filled with hidden flowers (some lucite and a few are glass), leaves, crystals and even two Czech glass butterflies. Some of the leaves are vintage and made in West Germany. There are a few different colors of glass seed beads and faceted, lucite AB crystals beads that are also vintage, from West Germany. The more you look at this necklace, the more you see. Don't forget, click on photos for an enlarged view. There is an extension chain to adjust the length and it has a little flower and AB crystal dangling from the end. Length can be adjusted from 18 1/2" to 20". Wouldn't this be perfect to wear to a Renaissance Festival or for a costume accessory?
