Spring 2009 Yarn CSA Share

Description

When you purchase a share in our CSA (stands for Community Supported Agriculture) you are investing in our Spring 2009 “yarn harvest”. You’ll receive an shareholders certificate, weekly updates on what’s going on around the farm and an invitation to our Shearing Day Celebration.

The money we receive from the shareholders is used to purchase hay and feed for the animals and to increase the size of our flock. We will be adding 10 more Cormo ewes. Every animal we add will increase the size of the clip and amount of yarn shareholders will receive.

As a shareholder you will be part of our farm and we strongly encourage you to visit your flock. During kidding and lambing season you'll receive an email every time a new baby is born and you'll get to help us name them. This year we had 23 angora goat kids and lambs and next year's crop will be even bigger.

After shearing, we’ll let our friends at the mill work their magic and soon you’ll receive your share of the harvest. The number of skeins, yardage, etc., will depend on the size of the clip but we are limit the number shareholders to 300 to ensure that everyone gets a bountiful supply.

We’ve priced our CSA at $125 per share. Of course, you’re welcome to buy as many shares as you like (while they last!) and a Yarn CSA share makes a great gift for all the knitters and crocheters in your life.

Our farm practices humane animal husbandry, we are "predator friendly" and none of our animals are ever sold for meat. Our sheep and goats graze on organic pasture 9 months out of the year. We supplement with quality hay and a custom-made whole grain ration.
