Preamble

“Ulysses’ breath came to a halt as soon as he saw her. She wore a loose shimmering raiment and bright curls floated down her shoulders splendorously gleaming by the glow of the fire.
‘She must be a goddess!’ thought he. ‘No mortal being can be as beautiful as she is!’ And he was right: Her name was Calypso, daughter of Atlas.”

Who knows, perhaps Calypso was wearing beads of colored glass …

I offer here a set with
9 lentils, 1 barrel, lovingly made be me in my studio in South of Germany, Bavaria. I used soft glass from Effetre.

Lentils: approx. 2 cm (0.79 inches) diameter, barrel: 3,4 cm (1.33 inches) x 1,1 cm (0.43 inches), Mandrels: 2 mm (0.08 inches).
Colors: yellow, black, orange, goldstone, white, violet.

Both sides of the beads are decorated quite similar.

Photographies were taken by daylight and are enlarged to show details. Colors may slightly differ depending on your screen.

My beads are, of course, properly cleaned and annealed in a digitally controlled kiln to ensure strength and durability.
