Slices of Glass Necklace--MADE TO ORDER

I have always loved the way the edge of a piece of glass looks once it has been ground down...so frosty and smooth. The pendant in this necklace showcases just that...the edges of glass, stacked neatly together with sterling silver wire (I know the wire looks dark in some of the photos...I want to assure you that is not the case. The lighting is playing tricks, and all silver is shiny and bright).

The glass is absolutely beautiful when stacked together like this...I had no idea it would turn into a sea foam color until it was finished...what a pleasant surprise! The glass changes color slightly, dependant on what is behind it as well…you can see a little bit of that in the photos. And you can’t see it in the pictures, but when you look through the non-frosted part of the pendant, there is an iridescent rainbow of color…

These pendants take an incredible amount of time and skill to create, hence the price difference between them and my other pendants (not to mention the amount of sterling silver wire involved in the wrapping process). I cut and grind each piece of glass by hand, making sure that they are the same size. The glass is notched where the wire rests to ensure a secure hold...and again, each piece is notched individually.

Measurements for the glass pendant: 1cm long x 2.5cm wide, and just over 0.5cm thick.

The pendant comes on a delicate (1mm) sterling silver cable chain, either 16" or 18" long...your choice (let me know what length you want in the message to seller during checkout). If you would like to upgrade to a thicker, sterling silver box chain (like the ones for sale in my shop) it will be an additional $2.00. Contact me about switching out the chains prior to purchase and I will adjust the listing for you.
