Medieval Queen Filigree Locket Necklace

Description

This steampunk or Victorian necklace started in a workshop at Arrowmont. Thinking I wanted more of a sense of mystery in my work I modified a vintage brass locket by sawing out a section strategically chosen to reveal a little of the underlying image, then riveted part of a filigree in place. I have secured the medieval queen archival photo image with jeweler's resin and decorated the area surrounding the image with faux gold leaf. I then added a layer of clear resin with a little artist's glitter in it. The locket measures a little under 2" by 1 1/2" and it hangs from a 24" chain secured with a safety lobster clasp
(Two more of the same filigrees punctuate the chain for a little more intrigue).
