City Block - Art Quilt

Description

This art quilt reminds me of an aerial view of a very colorful and rainy city.

This 12 x 12 inch (30.48 x 30.48 cm) art quilt was stretched over artist stretcher bars so that it is ready to hang. To create this art quilt, I used handpainted fabric and colored thread with decorative embroidery.

***** This art quilt was featured in the book "Sew Somerset: The Art of Creative Sewing with Mixed Media." A segment of this piece is shown on the title page for chapter 6 (pg. 117). The article written by myself that features "City Block" begins on page 126.
