This began as a small, simple attempt at creating a sort of wretched grouping of improvised internal organs, or guts, as it were. Eventually, as the layers thickened and the entanglement grew tighter and more focused, what I saw as a face began to swell and bubble. So, I added some floating bits... A couple of mismatched eyes, a stubbly, dismembered chin and some stained, crooked teeth.

Believe it or not, more people like this painting than you might expect... Surely more than I expected.

The float frame included is, again, hand-made, painted with acrylics and sealed with polyurethane.
