Vintage Tin

I am not sure what this is exactly! LOL I have been researching it and there are two possibilities.

One is that it is a tin for watch crystals(glass).

The other (and more likely), is it is a tin for manufactured gems or stones. Cosmite is a term used for this and the fact that it has a patent pending on the tin would also indicate this possibility.


It is a little more than an inch wide and a tiny bit over 1/2" in height.

It is very rusted on a large section of the outside. It is very worn. Elsie thinks it had face powder, but can't remember... she's 102!
