salmonberries petit shawl
Description
Warm and beautiful…this shawl is knit from some of the most luxurious handspun yarn. The fiber content is 60% Angora Rabbit, 20% Tussah Silk, and 20% Merino Wool. The fiber was dyed by Jean Womack, a Midwestern fiber artist. My friend Jill Baer spun it into yarn and passed it onto me. It is light and airy, but also warm. The silk adds drape and depth of color. These are some of my favorite colors. I named the shawl for the berries that grow up north and are similar in color to salmon roe.
The shawl is petit. The model wears dress size 12. The shawl measures 60 inches from hand to hand and 25 inches down the back. The closure in the photo is a simple sushi chop stick… a fitting closure for such a piece! It can be included upon request.
Handwash, reshape, dry flat.
This shawl is also a response to the etsyfast team's July Challenge: Destash.
