VERY Limited Edition - Dead Rock Star Fetish

Description

This is a wood block print from my old art school days. It is signed and numbered "EV 8/8", meaning Edition Varié #8. This is separate from the original run, which does not include the red fish in the bottom right corner.

The subject of the piece are Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison, two of my favorite dead rock stars at the time. The woodcut is in the style of the 16th century "Dance of Death," a series of engravings that were the earliest form of Dia de Los Muertos.

This print (on archival Arches coldpress paper) was made in 1996. It is in excellent condition despite being in storage for nearly 10 years! It is the only one I have left.

The image size is 8" X 10"; the paper size is 12" x 15".
