Description

When the Geldar started to refit their exploration units to prepare for battle they started with this model. The light armored infantry unit served as the mainstay soldier for the Geldar army. Though the original design was a robot of peace and exploration, the redesign proved to be quite the effective warrior. With it's quick speed and razor sharp claws it was known to slip past the heavy robots in front lines and cut through enemy light units in the rear like tinfoil. This model stands 5 inches tall by 4 inches wide. It is constructed of solid wood and finished with a weathered gold and silver metal wash. It comes complete with an eyelet for hanging upon request. Shipping is $4.50 to the U.S. Custom orders are welcome. For more information about the Geldar you can read the back story below. Thank you.

The Kelevion Universe

There is little known about the early days of creation as the great war destroyed the entire Solarian civilization and all of their scientific knowledge along with them. What is known is this. Shortly after the birth of the Olvas star system there was a single race of humanoids that inhabited the central most planet of the known universe. We call this planet Solaris Prime. The race of humanoids that inhabited it were the Solarians. They represent the oldest known form of humanoid life to have ever been recorded in our history. Solarians were a fragile race. They stood two meters in height and weighed less than 50 kilos. Their skin had a very dark pigment to it to help them reflect the twin stars harmful rays. The eyes of Solarians were highly developed. So developed that it seemed overkill for them to have two sets. They were a bipedal race with small hands and feet. The Solarians started as a primitive race but after long years they became technologically advanced. They prospered and expanded deep into the galaxy. It was a time of great harmony and scientific knowledge was ever expansive. In the far reaches of space near the end of the known universe it was discovered that there was a massive impenetrable energy field known as “The Great Divide”. Nothing, not even light could travel through this field. All attention from every planet was focused on this new mystery in deep space. The studies that were preformed on this field led to the discovery of an unlimited energy source that could provide much needed resources for the entire universe. The Solarians using their highly advanced technology tapped into the divide and it gave them the push they needed to colonize every corner of the universe and to discover technologies that rivaled human imagination. But there was a terrible cost. The energy that the Solarians had been using to support their ever growing needs over the years caused a massive imbalance in the field. This imbalance caused the divide to gradually shrink. It became apparent as the field grew ever smaller that it was going to destroy the universe. It was decided that all scientific resources were to be focused on the divide to seek out a solution for this crisis that threatened their very existence.

Long years passed and still the divide closed in on them. Entire planets in the outer rims had been rendered to dust having come in contact with the energy field. It seemed that the humans thirst for breaching scientific boundaries had finally been the catalyst of their own destruction. However just when it seemed that all hope was lost there was a breakthrough! In a last ditch effort the Solarians discovered the key to stabilizing the field. They breathed a great sigh of relief and rejoiced in celebration. Hence forth any tampering with the divide was now strictly forbidden. Over the course of a millennium the Solarians that colonized the universe had evolved both physically and mentally. No longer did the inhabitants that had once set out from the same central planet resemble each other. In fact they were so different in appearance that they were more like their own separate species. This evolutionary change triggered tensions between the colonies. As is common when there are times of great conflict, a single spark sent the entire universe into a massive civil war known as “The Purge”. Times were dark and blood stained space itself. The colonies switched their focus from scientific knowledge to the machine of war. As this conflict raged on it took a massive toll on their lives. As the population of the planets diminished the ranks started to thin out and fielding an army was too difficult a task to continue. The solution to the lack of available people to rage war was simple. Almost over night Solarian soldiers were replaced with machines. Factories sprang up everywhere and the metallic sounds of robot production could be heard in every major city across the expanse of space itself. Robotic sciences grew at an astounding rate and in a short period of time robots had become more capable soldiers than the Solarians ever could be. The Purge was back in full swing. Ten years after the introduction of robots into the great war, a cease fire was attained and life for the people of the universe went back to normal. So it seemed…..

As it turned out the robots that the Solarians constructed had become so accustomed to their roles in the war that they refused to obey the command to stand down. Logically the robots felt that the Solarians had become an immediate threat to their way of life. Machines from every world quickly joined forces to form a single unstoppable war machine. Solarians taken completely off guard by this turn of events were totally unprepared for a war with the machines that had been their protectors and were forced to flee from their home planets. Unfortunately the population of the major planets could only fall back as far as The Great Divide. With computer precision the Solarian race was systematically wiped out. The machines had destroyed their creators and had now become the keepers of the known universe.

This brings you to the dawn of the second age…the age of machines. The victorious robots have divided into several distinct factions that have settled in different regions across the galaxy. The second age has been an era of relative peace however the casts have been unable to agree on how best to proceed with the future of their race. The problem seems to be that each cast preformed unique functions during the purge. Some were warriors, others were collectors of materials and data, there were those that were designed for espionage, and some were salvagers. Each of these groups wanted the entire robot race to focus their efforts into their respective fields. Of course no one group could convince the other to disobey years of programming so tensions grew. The former explorers and deep reconnaissance robots gave now formed into the Geldar Union. The Geldar are a benign race that focus on learning about the mysteries of space and gathering intelligence on the activities of the other robot factions. They can be identified by their tall lanky bodies with twin claws for hands and their glowing golden eyes. There is the Kovas Empire which is a race of skilled warriors that for many years served as the backbone of Solarian warfare. They are the most aggressive of the casts and constantly seek to hone their deadly art. Kovas warriors are easily recognized by their huge square armor plated exoskeletons and massive plasma disruptors. The Sectoid Hive is a cast whose central preoccupation is to colonize every square inch of available space in the universe. Sectoids were originally designed to pillage enemy resources and gather salvaged materials for the war effort. They are of one mind and seek only to gather natural resources to expand the boundaries of the hive. Sectoids are modeled after various types of insects found on Solaris Prime. The last major cast is known as the Octavious Guild or more simply as The Guild. The Guild is a race of machines that’s purpose was to capture and analyze all enemy equipment that could be located. Since the end of the war The Guild has become a sort of archiving race. They are constantly gathering every type of organism that they can find and placing them into “The Ark”. The Ark is located on their home planet and serves as a giant self contained museum that houses everything that The Guild collects. The collection process often renders entire worlds barren of life and most times is extremely destructive. Octavians have a small oval body that is covered with various tentacles used for the extraction process.

Recently the Kovas sent a research team to the great divide to ascertain the possibility of using the massive field as a source for an advanced planetary siege weapon. Initial reports indicated that a successful link to the field had been established however shortly after that report all transmissions from their ship ceased. A Kovas reconnaissance unit was dispatched to discover the cause of the transmission failure. What they found was that the research team’s ship had been annihilated after linking to the divide and now the energy field that has been stable for many ages is once again shrinking. This was the catalyst that sent the factions into a war. The Kovas were the first to detect the change in the field but word spread quickly through the universe to all robots that the divide was collapsing. Though most of the data about the first encounter that the Solarians had with the divide was lost, it was suspected that some information about how to repair the damage to the divide must still be located on the planet known as Solaris Prime. Solaris Prime once the pride of the Solarian race had since become a seldom visited wasteland. During the Great War between the Solarians the planet had become the target of massive nuclear strikes. Before the end of the war it was completely lifeless. The surface of the planet is now a mosaic of nuclear fallout, leveled cities, acidic oceans, and violent volcanic eruptions. The only structure intact is the Gobias space station orbiting the planet. The Solarians constructed the Gobias as a stelarcartography hub before the war.

Since time was a factor each of the robot factions sent a diplomat to meet at the Gobias so that a unified search of the planet for the lost data could be developed. Unknown to anyone at the time the battle starved Kovas felt that the diplomatic meeting could be the perfect opportunity to end the peaceful times that had been plaguing them for so long. Their plan was to send a diplomat as agreed but after the meeting began a second Kovas agent would breach the station and make his way to the central core. Once in the core a captured Octavian explosive charge would be detonated in the station’s main reactor destroying the station along with all of the diplomatic members. The detonation device would leave an unmistakable radioactive signature that would be traced back to The Guild. The Kovas would claim that the Octavians feared that the search efforts would eventually turn up the missing data and that due to The Guild’s lust for archiving unique objects could not afford to let the one of a kind data fall into another faction’s hands. All of the factions would view this as an act of war on behalf of the Octavians and hopefully it would lead to the battles that the Kovas have longed for to hone their skills. The plan was executed and went better than originally planned. In fact not only was war declared on the Octavians but all of the factions started lashing out at each other until the entire universe was brought into a massive civil war.

This brings us to the dark times that encompass our present. The factions have been fighting each other for months now. The worst of the fighting has massed around the Olvas star system. The Great Divide grows smaller by the day and a state of panic has gripped the machines as they all struggle to gain control of Solaris Prime to search for the missing key to repairing the massive energy field. With so much constant combat in and around the planet, no search is able to be undertaken. There are no peace envoys, no cease fires, and no hope of uniting the once peaceful robots. It is all out war and only one group will triumph. But who will it be and will it come too late……….
