Tiny, fiery pale orange rondelles twine their way up a lacy lattice of gold vermeil, while beautifully faceted, deeply colored briolette drops dance in the light.

The spessartite garnet is my newest love. This marvelous stone comes in all shades of orange, from spicy to honeyed, and it has a clear fire that is simply incomparable.

For these earrings, I wrapped thirty 2mm microfaceted spessartite rondelles around a lovely filigree framework of 14k gold vermeil. Then, to add depth and movement, i finished with a fringe of more deeply colored spessartite briolette drops, ranging in length from 4 to 6mm.

The stones in these earrings, over 15 carats in all, are of exceptional cut and brilliance. The earrings fall about 38 mm (1.5 inches) from locking closures.
