Japanese OBI Fabric Blue Clouds Memory/Keepsake Box or Tea Box

Here I have a Chabako Box covered with Navy, Flowers and Clouds OBI Fabric.

Chabako is a Japanese Cha(tea) Bako(box). It is made of Japanese cedar (which keeps the bugs out) and is completely lined in tin to keep things fresh. The boxes were used to transport tea from distributors to the tea shops. These decorated boxes can be used for anything from Jewerly, CD’s, DVD’s and even Tea. They are a great conversation piece also.

In the last picture is what it looks like before I add padding, fabric,cording and ribbon.

Measurement is 9 1/4" x 6 3/4" x 7 1/2".

These are handcrafted by me and the fabric is silk obi from Japan. These boxes are great for a housewarming gift, graduation gift, a friends birthday, holiday gift or even for you to enjoy.
