This is a Japanese "family knits" book-- 40 patterns for men, women and children all graphed and using symbols for stitch patterns. Beginner to intermediate skill level as near as I can tell-- of course, I can't knit worth beans.... That extra stick messes me up. But at one time, I had hopes.... And no, you don't need to be able to read Japanese-- just follow the pictures!
