Description

Created on a thick 20 x 20 x 1.75" extra deep gallery wrapped canvas. The sides of this piece are covered witeh textured, stone-like stucco and it is wired, varnished and ready to hang. Modeling paste, textured, handmade paper, layers and layers of acrylic paint, spray paint, glazes, oil paint and oilsticks were used to create this HIGHLY textured and colorful piece. Entitled "SURFACES" (or sometimes Industrial depending on my texture and color choices) because it looks like various different textured surfaces: textures similar to patinized or weathered metal, to carpet, leather, basket, air filters, upholstery fabrics, moonrock, denim, snake skin, even straw!.. the surfaces are foremost in this piece. The palette used consists of industrial reds and yellows, orange, turquoise and teal, lime and chartreuse, baby blue, olive, hazard yellow and cream. Really modern, bright and cool with an industrial feel; great in an eclectic, artsy decor.
