Red White and Blue Fused Glass Plate

Description

This seven inch fused glass plate is created with a specialized glass lace technique. For this plate the red and blue glass were ground into medium frit and then sprinkled on a kiln shelf. As it was fired the glass first melted together and then drew up and away from itself to create an extremely delicate lace. This lace was then placed on top of a white sheet glass and fired for a second time to fully fuse the lace into the white plate. A final third firing was completed to give the plate its gentle curve.

Total firing time for this plate was well over 30 hours and the maximum temperatures reached were in excess of 1500 degrees Fahrenheit.

We utilize the finest in fusible glass and grind our own frit powders. Our wrought iron stands are made up the road a piece here in Texas. Everything about our work is hand made.

This art piece is signed and numbered by the artist. It will never be duplicated. The piece measures 7 inches square, the stand adds another two inches in height. The stand is included.
