Ark of the Covenant Oil Painting
Description
The Ark of the Covenant. So, I was thinking about different types of arks and how the Ark of the covenant got its name.So when one first thinks about religious arks, first thing that comes to mind is noahs Ark. then we have the word Arch, and then we have the Ark of the Covenant. You know. That's the thing Indie is trying to find in Raiders of the Lost Ark. And I was thinking to myself. Ark. What a weird word for a box full of gods essence, or whatever is in there. And then I remember another instance that we use the word ark and that is during arc welding. For those of you who don't know, Arc welding is basically electrifying a piece of metal and then melting a wand of some sort onto the metal. err. I actually used to do some arc welding. I was bad at it. Its hard to explain. Anyway, it involves a lot of sparks and you have to have a shield over your eyes, which then lead me to think about how bright ark welding is, and how bright the light was in that scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where all the nazis get burned up when the Ark gets opened. So my mind is turning and I remember that these pre historic batteries were found in Iraq. Seriously. Well. To be fair they don't know exactly what they were for. But one thing is for sure and that is that they could produce a very mild electric shock if wired correctly. So, now think to yourself. If you had a device that could shock people way before the days of electricity. What else could you call that besides, well, GOD. I propose that the ark of the covenant was an early electrified box which could be used to shock the devout or the unbeliever. It was taken on to many battlefieds, and some believe it was a "weapon sent from God", I doubt they could get up enough juice to zap any enemy but I believe it could have been taken onto battlefields as a moral support for the troops who would believe to have the "power" of god on their sides. No pun intended. What do you think? What was inside the Ark of the Covenant that caused peoples skin to tan when opened. Is it possible that a primitive spark machine could make enough light to cause damage to human skin. Is this another case of religious leaders using basic science to squander the people?
