Anatomy Cabochon

Description

This cabochon is made from polymer clay. It is my original design and was 100% handcrafted by me. Cab is signed on the reverse.

The top (domed) half of the cab was fashioned from transluscent clay, metallic foils and an image transfer. The bottom half was made of textured polymer clay with inclusions. It was hand-sanded through many grits, tumbled, buffed, sanded again and buffed again. Throughout this labor-intensive process, the cab was cured numerous times.There is no finish or sealer on the cab--just the fine silky feel of buffed polymer.

There are 5 holes drilled horizontally. Each hole is 2mm in diameter. The cabochon is 1-3/4 inch in diameter and weighs less than an ounce. It is tough and durable.
