spindlers Lazy Kate with four PVC bobbins
Description
**note: I originally made these with the upright posts glued in place. I had an unfinished one that I took on vacation and it was so much easier to throw in my bag unassembled. I now sell them this way. No worries, the posts fit in snuggly enough to stay in during use!Spindlers, do you wish you could wind off and keep on spinning once your spindle is full? My Lazy Kate is just what you need!
Simply wind your spun yarn from your spindle to a bobbin (yes, they're kind of ugly but they're lightweight and do the job...much better than the dowel pieces and pencils I used to grab for). When you're ready to add more to the bobbin simply fan out your ends, overlap and spin to join.
Tuck a bobbin or two in a zippered plastic bag and toss it in your purse or project bag to fill up on the go.
Fill up two or more bobbins and they're ready to pop on the pegs for plying. The bobbins rest on the tops of the pegs as they turn, giving just enough drag to gently tension your singles.
No moving parts to break or malfunction. Pure and simple. Just like hand spindling.
DETAILS: oak, decorative routered edges, hand-rubbed antique oil finish, non-mar/non-slip pads on the bottom
base = 8" x 3.5", height, including pegs = 7.5", pegs disassemble from base for travel
Includes four .5" PVC bobbins, 6.5" tall...yours will be cleaned of all writing (those pictured with fiber on them are mine and for illustration only)
