Eiffel Tower 8X10 Print

This photo was taken in April 2007 of the Eiffel Tower. Here is what I said in my blog that day about the tower:

“Okay, today I had a really nice day in Paris. I’m feeling more oriented and comfortable and I am able to take it all in more.

This morning I took my first trip to the Eiffel Tower. I know it is the ultimate tourist spot, but I loved it. To me the Eiffel Tower looks like Paris— a strong powerful presence, but at the same time, airy, light, and oh, so aesthetic. It is just lovely!

We walked up the stairs until there were no more stairs to walk up. Then we took the elevator to the top. I liked hiking the stairs, but the elevator was a little scary. It is such a tall monument it felt like we just might go up and up and up forever. The view from the top was so amazing! Lots of cities have monuments to their founders or leaders or great battles and victories. Paris has these, too, but the Eiffel Tower, the monument that stands above them all is a monument to the pure beauty of Paris itself. What a city!”
