Tarnished Gold, 4 oz spinning fiber, washable wool and glitter

My team challenge for September is harvest time, and I was visiting relatives this weekend who live beside a field of goldenrod. It's been so dry here that the plant's flowers are looking like old gold--this fiber reminds me of that field. The first 2 oz. ball of fiber is pale gold, lime, olive and black handdyed superwash wool; the second 2 oz. ball is a blend of deep yellow, black, sienna superwash wool and angelina nylon glitter. You can spin each ball separately and ply them, or you can spin them any which way. Photos of yarn and socks kindly supplied by malaise, who purchased the fiber and spun it up incredibly well.

The fiber has gone through my carder 3 times and has been pulled into a ready-to-spin roving. There should be plenty of fiber to spin enough yarn for an average-size pair of socks, or mittens, or perhaps a scarf for a loved one who hates to handwash their garments. Yarns made with this fiber can be machine-washed on the gentle cycle, no bleach, and should be laid flat or hung to dry.

All my fiber comes from a non-smoking environment but my cats love to help in the studio. Photo props are not included in this offering.
