Sunflower hat with bee, crocheted OOAK original by Doris

This is another one of my OOAK original flower hats with a bee on top.

I crocheted this hat and bee with worsted weight acrylic and some specialty yarn for the bee's upper body to give it a frizzy, fuzzy effect. The bee is stuffed with polyester fiber fill and the eyes are embroidered in black.

The flower represents a sunflower and the bee is decked out in her fall colors of orange and light brown.

This hat was made in many layers. I crocheted the pedals separately and sewed them on. The pedals have a tendency to want to curl under, so it will take a little patience to straighten them out in the position that you desire, especially after packaging for shipping. I have had great reviews on my previous hat called "Me, Queen Bee" and the feedback will show that this is a fabulous hat.

This hat is very amply sized at about 22" around and will fit around a head with thick hair with no problem. Like the other hat, I also crochet a string (with a pony bead on each end) for the bottom boarder, so that you can adjust the size to your personal needs.

The sunflower's brown center (top of hat) is about 12" in diameter and the rest of the hat is another 2" down, not counting the green decorative pedals that go towards the face. This hat is actually quite solid and warm because of all the double stitching and crocheting that is involved in making it. This hat can be worn with or without the bee. The bee can be attached with the elastic loop that I have hidden and tucked away when not in use. (Hand washing is recommended)

The bee measures about 7 1/2" long from head to tail and is a svelte 6 1/2" in circumference. Her wings are 4 1/2" long.
