This is a studio second. Because of the nature of porcelain and the high temperature at which I fire, this bowl unfortunately warped a bit at the top. It's not too bad, I tried to get a good photo of it, but it didn't come out. I have several out-of-round bowls I use in the kitchen all the time. I don't even make bowls this large anymore due to my back and hip problems.

This is a pretty nice sized serving bowl. It is wide and shallow. Would be great for a side dish, displayed with fruit as a centerpiece or even displayed on a low table in the living room. The creamy tomato red with the black and white exterior makes for quite a striking piece with food or without! Like all my work, the carving continues right on to the bottom where it is also carved with my signature snowflake. Microwave and dishwasher safe.

This was thrown on the potter's wheel. The entire outside surface was painted with a black slip (liquefied clay) and carved so the white porcelain beneath it is shown. This process is called sgraffito. It is glazed with a tomato RED glaze on the inside and a glossy clear glaze on the outside.

It measures 2 1/2 inches tall and 8 3/4 inches wide.
